Culture
can be thought of as the lens through which we experience the world around us.
Heritage is culture that has been passed down to us and the culture we pass on.
Cultural resources are evidence of human culture. some examples are buildings, art, artifacts, dwellings, earthworks, farmsteads, and event sites. These nonrenewable resources often yield unique information about human societies and environments, and provide answers for modern day social, political, and environmental problems. Wanting to know where we come from and imagining where we are going is a big part of the choices we make. Personal, meaningful experiences with cultural resources is one way for us to connect with our past and plan for our future.
